Diandra was born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, and walked into Pé Descalço, the largest forró school in the world, at sixteen. Two years later she'd earned the red necklace, the school's highest level. She started teaching right away.

Four international tours and workshops across Brazil and Europe followed. Then Hamburg, three years ago. New city, new language, but something was missing. For Diandra, forró is not just dance. It's one of the most important pieces of Brazilian culture. Expression, connection, joy. She started teaching here because that piece was too important to keep to herself.

Three levels.
One feeling.

Level 01
Beginner
For dancers who understand the basic step and the simple opening. From there we build on posture, the forró rhythm, and your first figures.

Level 02
Intermediate I
For dancers with good knowledge of the basics of closed and open dance, solid 5-step movements, the basics of the back turn (inverted turn), and the peão (turn together).

Intermediate II
Flowing connections, more complex figures, and musicality. Feel the rhythm, don't just count it.
This is a closed group for dancers who completed Intermediate I with us.

Common questions.
Do I need any experience?
For the Beginner course you should understand the basic step and the simple opening. Never danced forró before? Come to our free social dance (every second Wednesday) or reach out to us — we'll find the right entry point for you.
Do I need to bring a partner?
No. We rotate partners regularly in class, and that's intentional because it helps you learn faster. You're also welcome to come as a pair.
What actually is Forró?
Forró is a Brazilian partner dance. Close, rhythmic, alive. Once you feel it, you won't want to stop.
What do Leader and Follower mean?
In forró there's a leading and a following role. It has nothing to do with gender. Anyone can dance either role.
How much does it cost?
125 € for 2 months. 8 sessions plus the free social dance every second Wednesday.
What happens after I sign up?
We'll get back to you within 48 hours by email with all the details on the course start, location, and payment info.
What if I want to dance as both Leader and Follower?
For each course level you'll need to choose one role and stick with it. However, it's possible to take two courses if you have the required dance level. Contact us for more information.
